About this Role

Have you ever thought about working for UNISON, the largest public sector union in the UK.  You need to be an enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individual to support our growing organisation. Successful candidates will bring their experience and skills in assisting branches to recruit, map membership density, develop new activists, organise and drive forward our campaigning work in branches and across the region.

To undertake this role, you must have good interpersonal and IT skills, excellent administrative and organisational skills and a good understanding and knowledge of the trade union movement.

You will need to be able to travel within the geographical location of the region and also possibly to London for meetings/training as required.

Why not come along to one of our drop-in sessions to find out more about the role and hear what a typical day looks like in the life of a Local Organiser, on Thursday 11 July at 4.30pm and 5.30pm at UNISON, 140-150 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6TH. (Refreshments will be provided.)

If you are interested in joining one of these sessions please contact Allison Jackson (a.jackson2@unison.co.uk) beforehand, indicating which session time you would prefer.

Excellent benefits include 32 days of annual leave (plus public holidays), final salary pension scheme and much more.
